Strandaelva is a small river which is salmon live about 8 km up to Helstad. The lower part of the river runs through the city Strandaelva and empties into the Storfjorden at Strandaelva center. The river bottom is lined with stone, where it runs flush city streets. But very early on Zone 2 of the river narrows considerably and flows at times of tight narrow crevices and where is not easily accessible. But further up the river, from zone 3 expands on out and creates fine poles with currents and rapids necks.

Fishing

Strandaelva belongs normally one of the best salmon rivers in Möre og Romsdal. The fishing is divided into zones, and early in the season from June to July fished most of the bottom zone 1 which is readily accessible and largely runs inside Strandaelva center. Zone 2 is difficult to access and running here and there in the clean mountain ranges. There, caught it with a rod rods, in the deep caverns. Zone 3 is a very nice stretch, which includes delicious pools for fly fishermen and is also readily available. Fishes well from July and the season.
Zone 4, 5, 8 and 9 are all fine zones and with a great variety of fishing opportunities. It stops a lot of salmon at the end of the season. The largest recorded salmon taken in Strandaelva weighed 18.9 kg, but during the breeding fishing has picked up a salmon of 21.9 kg. The salmon can be great, but fish around 5-7 kg are more common.
