Steindalselva is a mini salmon river in northern Fosen. Is the salmon live about 1.7 mil. River lower parts are more slow flowing into the character, runs through the beautiful landscape. The upper part is more strife and passes through three rapids.
Highway 715 goes flush with the river, which flows into the sea at Osen.

Steindalselva is very dependent on rainfall to fish well. The fishing is divided into sone, 1-4. Sone 1 is about 4.5 km long and extends from Nordmelandsfossen to Eikvikna, is slow flowing and best suited to spin fishing. Sone 2 is about 3.7 km long and extends from Eikvika to Åseggforsen, there are some excellent games for fly fishing, especially from the bridge and down, even a windbreak located at Eikvika.
Sone 3 från Åseggfossen till Moengfossen är ca 2km. Finns några djuphålor lämpade för spinnfiske. Även vindskydd finns. Sone 4, från Moengsfossen till Skarvåsen. Är stopp zonen för laxen och sträckan är rätt lugn flytande, med en del hålor att fiska i. Above the rapids on the stretch, it is a little more speed on the water and is well suited for fly fishing.
