Hossmoåns FVOF (Fishery Conservation Association) was formed in 1943 and has since then sold the license for lure fishing in Ljungbyån. The fishing area is located about one mil south of Kalmar and the association's water begins just downstream Ljungbyholm. From there it flows then through Hossmo, hence the name of association and the river, on down to the sea at a distance of about four kilometers. The vegetation next to stream is mixed hardwood and open fields.

Hossmoån is most famous for its trout fishing. Fishing Club has its own culture of trout, and the goal is to put out about 4000 two-year-old sea trout each year. There is some fishing stretches that are better than others such as stretch Källängen , there it is current, and it's OK to fly fish.

Other good places for fly fishing are Ekarna, Brudhoppet , Maden, Granen, garden, church Lair, and Spakenör.
