Skräbeån flowing down from Ivösjön at Bromölla and out into the Mölle Fjord in Nymölla, a distance of about 5km. River's headwaters is much longer. 1952 was formed Skräbeåns fish conservation association that works actively to create a good sport to the public in the river.

It has worked with biotope measures to enhance the possibility for the reproduction of sea trout, then by placing boulders and stones at well chosen locations. It now maintains a good population of sea trout smolts in the river.

There are some fine fly fishing stretches but it's primarily a pool1 which is really nice. It has been there before with several large sea trout and some individual around 10 kg. It are fished earlier in the stretch downstream of the bridge in Nymölla. The general season starts, as usual, March 1 and will run until Sept 30.

Fishing license must be visibly displayed. It is every fisherman's obligation to observe the effect. Fishing licenses are required for all persons aged 15 years. Fishing may only be downstream of the car bridge in Nymölla and the marked stretch in Bromölla.

Fishing is only permitted from the 1 March to 30 September. Bait fishing forbidden from 1 March until 14 March.

During the whole season for fishing with bait bans, from the car bridge in Nymölla to marking about 100 m downstream. Salmon and trout less than 50 cm must be released. Maximum 2 fish, salmon, trout per person and day.

Caught Salmon and trout must be registered. Registration is made at the parking in Nymölla or bicycle bridge in Bromölla. Fishermen who do not registering a catch, after the closure of fishing. Will be immediately suspended from further fishing in Skräbeån.
