The slow flowing Ljustorpån have their water from streams and lakes that flow together in Lagfors pool about 4-5 mil above Timrå. The stream flowing freely from the dam and into the estuary of Stavreviken (empties into the river Indalsälven outlet), a distance of about 3.5 mil. On its way down through several great outdoor areas also flows Mjällån together in height of the highlands.

Fishing
Continuous release of brown trout and rainbow trout in the river.
Continuous releases of both trout and rainbow trout creates a good fishing in the river. It has also been habitat treatment in the two streams and Ljustorpsån Mjällån. Sea trout fishing is at its best in spring when melting snow begins to subside and the water temperature rises to a 5-8 + degrees.
