Liaerelva is a small river that runs through Lierdalen and out of Oslo Fjord. It is cloudy and still waters of the lower few kilometers from the mouth. Five kilometers upstream from the mouth of the river clears up some, but still can not be considered complete. For larger rainfall becomes river chocolate brown and it usually takes 2-3 days before the fish well with fly again.

Fishing
Although Lierelva is surrounded by dense vegetation, there are some great stretches to try the fly rod for, then preferably with a single handed rod. Salmon from 1-3 kg and sea trout up to two pounds are common catches. A record salmon of 10.2 kg was, however, the 2001 season.
