About
Drammenselva which is about 4 mil southwest of Oslo in Drammen. It's a big wide river that is about 4.5 mil long and salmon about 3 mil, from the fjord for about 3 km above Hokksund center. It belongs to one of Norway's top ten rivers in the number of salmon per season. Large salmon are taken each year and fish around 10 kg belong to ordinariness.
Fishing
With large annual releases of both salmon and sea trout beds there for a good salmon fishing. Öst siden Jäger and Fishing association disposes the majority of fisheries in Drammenselva and cards sold to the public. In order to fish on the popular route Fossen must participate in the daily lottery that takes place at laksehytta at Helle Fossen, the draw will begin at 19, fishing starts at 21st
Below Helle Fossen at Hokksund river is divided into four zones, Fossen, Red, Yellow, Blue Zone. Red Zone is a deep hole with eddies best suited to spin fishing, Yellow zone from lower Eiker to Hokksund bridge is a slow flowing stretch. Blue zone from Hokksund to Helle Fossen has good speed on the water and is ideal for fly fishing.
