About
Ranaelva in nordlands country , located at Mo i Rana. It has its source from the Salt Mountain in the north and from Black Ice in the northwest, both running together at Elvmöthei about 70 km from the estuary. Since it runs flush with the E6 down to the outlet and into the Ranafjorden Mo i Rana.

Ranaelva is large and ranges from slow flowing deep sections to fight strong streams. The bottom consists largely of stone and gravel. Salmon stock is large and the largest salmon that have been taken weighed 25 kg, salmon around 10 kg belong to ordinariness.
More about fishing
In the early 2000's, salmon fishing is very poor in ranaelva, but from 2007 the salmon fishery had an upswing and now caught annually about 2 to 3.5 tonnes of salmon in the river.
