Eidevassdraget is part of the 160.000 acres Plahte estate, one of the largest privately owned land areas in Norway. At the estate you will find untouched nature and very few people. Most cabins are easy to reach, but located several km. from any neighbor.
The Eide watercourse is about 25 km long and covers about 100 Km2. The anadromous part is about 14 km and holds sea trout, wild Atlantic salmon and some anadromous arctic char. There are also plenty smaller mountain lakes with good trout fishing. Parts of this area has been suggested for the UNEXCO list of world heritage and a large part is now a nature reserve due to its special biology and untouched nature.

The Eide watercourse consists of several large lakes connected by relatively short rivers. It has among the densest population of sea trout in Norway and in the mountain you will find high quality trout fishing.
At the lower end river, next to the fjord, you will find Sagmestereidet, one of our finest places. Approximately 4 km further up, by another connecting river, you will find Øvereidet, also offering good sea-trout and salmon fishing. The cabins Kalbekkvika and Sørengvatn are at the inner part of the watercourse. These cabins offer mainly trout fishing in the lowlands as well as in the mountains. It is, however, possible to fish for all species from any of these four cabins, both in rivers and lakes.
The water flow is on average 6 m3/s. Common size of the sea trout is about 1 kg whereas the salmon has an common size of 2-3 kg. Largest caught fish/year is normally about 5-6 kg. There are also several mountain lakes that holds large trout. In other words, this is not the place if you are looking for the 15 kg salmon trophy, but rather a place where you can experience pristine nature with healthy populations of fish and with few other people.
More about fishing
The estate does not sell loose fishing cards, but “packages” where accommodation is included. For a group renting a cabin, the price range from about €350 to €800/person for one week including fishing licenses, cabin, boats, petrol for outboards, firewood etc.
Upon arrival, you will be met by the owner or one of his representatives, who will explain about the fishing and the area. The estate has a web page with detailed descriptions, maps and hundreds of photos from the areas
