Neidenelva is an unregulated small salmon river in north-eastern Norway, which have their headwaters from the lake Lijärvi in northernmost Finland, runs from there to Norway to follow the Norwegian-Finnish border, before it turns toward and into the Neidenfjorden west of Kirkenes, the lower leg on Norwegian soil winds with lovely rapids and streams, is one of the most important salmon rivers in Finnmark and has status as a national river.
In this northeastern landscape with small undulating plains 200-300 m above sea level, which extends up into Finland. Here is the fish selections are large and there are both salmon and sea trout, artic char and hump salmon.
Fishing
Neidenelva is one of Norway's better salmon rivers, with years of catches of around 6-8 tons of places the river in the top 15 list regarding number of tonnes of salmon caught. At the bottom of the river is a little quieter character, but from Kobbfoss to Skoltefossen there are many good rapids and exquisite pools to fish in, and here is the sense of desolation is great. The river is salmon about 2.5 mil and Norway and Finland have an agreement on fishing in the river.
